Strawberry Milkshake Cupcakes

Don't these look divine?
This recipe and many more can be found at Hummingbird High, a baking blog based right here in Portland, Oregon. This is the latest must-read on my blog list... and not just because she featured my Celebration Flags in the recipe photos (yay) but it's simply post after post of gorgeous, mouth-watering sweets, expertly photographed.
I am seriously going to try this Strawberry Milkshake Cupcake recipe asap. Yummmmm.

P & P featured in Mollie Makes!

Oh yay, I've been featured!

More specifically, my Celebration Flags have been featured in the latest issue of Mollie Makes magazine! Now, I have to admit, I had never heard of this UK publication until they contacted me last month. But what a treat! Here is how they describe themselves:

'Mollie Makes is published thirteen times a year. We curate the best craft from around the world into a tactile, collectible and totally irresistible magazine. We love to make- handmade is more than just a hobby for us, it’s in everything we do.  We can’t resist hunting down treasures in thrift stores, then customising, re-covering and embellishing our finds with our endless stash of ribbons, buttons, fabrics and felt. We’re forever on the lookout for new inspiration. Whatever we do, we’re living and loving handmade.’
~ Making ~ Thrifting ~ Collecting ~ Crafting

Isn't this just the perfect magazine? All of my favorite things! Together! Swoon.
If you live in the UK, this is issue is on newsstands now. Or you can subscribe to the print or ipad versions here.

Wedding Style :: The Dress

Classy. Elegant. Non-traditional. My wedding-style aesthetic could be described as any of those things but perhaps "unique" describes it the best. This also applies to wedding dresses, possibly the biggest decision a bride has to make when styling her own wedding. Your dress should complement & enhance your natural  beauty, reflect your sense of fashion and, most importantly, make you feel your absolute best, especially when all eyes are on you.

Basically, I like wedding dresses that don't actually look like wedding dresses. Isn't this jade gown the most beautiful color?

Ah, so elegant! (And you don't have to show a lot of skin. Unless you want to.)

I can already tell I'd love these two. You've got to be a fun gal to get married in a bright orange dress.

And here's a more "traditional" shaped gown, but in black!

And if you're wondering... yes, I would totally wear any of these at my own wedding. My favorite? It's close, but probably the jade. What a stunner.

The Not Wedding

Brilliant. A bridal show that's hosted like an actual wedding!

From ceremony to reception, The Not Wedding event is essentially a chance for potential clients to see a curated selection of local wedding vendors in action. A faux bride, groom & wedding party model stunning wedding attire, catering companies showcase their best delicacies, floral designers arrange stunning bouquets. The attendee is a "guest" at the wedding and can view the invitations, sample the wedding cake & hear the DJ spin on the dance floor.

The Not Wedding currently hosts events in Atlanta, Orlando & San Diego. {These photos are from the 2012 Atlanta event.} This is such a fantastic idea, I'll bet it will be catching on in other locations around the country. So fun!

Featured Design :: Sweetly Wrapped

This is one of my our most popular P&P invitation suites: simple yet elegant. The beautifully scripted text evokes a traditional feel but the layout stays modern. The baker's twine wrapping & bow adds a bit of fun to complete the design.

This Invitation Suite comes with RSVP postcard and additional Details card, all wrapped up together. The RSVP postcard return address shows when the whole ensemble is flipped, making it easy to stamp, stuff & send to your guests.

This suite is shown in Navy & Slate but many other color options are available. Visit the Paper & Pinafore shop for more details: www.paperandpinafore.etsy.com
